PRIVATE SPA CHALETS · FRANCONIAN LAKE DISTRICT · BAVARIA · GERMANY

Private spa chalets in Bavaria. Your hot tub. Your sauna. Your lakes.

The Büchelbergerei is a small chaletdorf in the Franconian Lake District — ten private spa chalets, each with its own outdoor hot tub (Whirlpool), private sauna and enclosed garden. Open year-round.

No shared spa. No hotel lobby. No timetable. Just your chalet, your garden, and seven lakes you can reach in ten minutes on foot or by bike.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl and Nuremberg — three of Germany's most remarkable historic towns — are all within 45 minutes' drive. Use the chaletdorf as your base.

THE CHALETS

Private. Completely.

Every chalet is a standalone holiday house — not a hotel room with a terrace. Private hot tub (outdoor, on your terrace). Private sauna. Enclosed garden. Your own fully-equipped luxury kitchen. A breakfast basket delivered to your door every morning.

The saltwater pool is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at 30°C — shared between all chaletdorf guests, but rarely busy.

WELLNESS

Everything private. Nothing shared unless you choose.

Hot tub (Whirlpool).  Outdoors, on your own terrace. Every chalet, without exception.

Private sauna.  In your chalet or in the garden sauna cube (Frank & Frei). Not a shared spa facility.

Saltwater pool.  30°C, no chlorine, open 24/7 throughout the year — including December.

Ice bathing.  Year-round guided ice bathing sessions with certified ICE-coach Christina. One of the few places in Bavaria where this is offered.

Massages & rituals.  Available on request, in your chalet or at the pool lounge.

FOOD & DRINK

No restaurant. No fixed mealtimes.

Breakfast basket.  Delivered to your chalet door every morning. Regional cheese, local bread, homemade preserves, fresh produce. Also available in a vegan version.

Chaletdorf Kitchen.  Ready-to-finish dishes and grill packages — prepared for you, cooked in your own kitchen when you feel like it.

Raclette & fondue.  Equipment and ingredients delivered to your chalet. The classic option for a long, unhurried evening.

Wines.  Selected wines from Winzerhof Stahl, stocked in your chalet on arrival. The same wines served by Lufthansa in Business Class.

MUST-SEE TOWNS — DAY TRIPS FROM YOUR CHALET

Three of Germany's finest historic towns.
All within 45 minutes.

The chaletdorf sits at the centre of a triangle of extraordinary medieval towns — on the famous Romantic Road. Use your chalet as a base: drive out, explore, and return in the evening. No need to change hotels.

Town Why visit Distance
Rothenburg ob der Tauber One of Europe's best-preserved medieval walled towns. Visit in the evening when the day-trippers have left — entirely different atmosphere. 45 min
Dinkelsbühl Smaller and quieter than Rothenburg, equally beautiful. A complete medieval town centre largely unknown outside Germany 35 min
Nuremberg Imperial city, 14th-century castle, Germanic National Museum, thriving food scene. Germany's most visited Christmas market (December). 45 min
Weißenburg Remarkably intact Roman ruins — baths and fortifications — within a charming small town. Rarely on the tourist map. 25 min

Medieval Towns

»We spent three days using it as a base and visited a different town each day. Perfect combination.«

THE FRANCONIAN LAKE DISTRICT

Seven lakes. All free. All year.

The Franconian Lake District surrounds the chaletdorf — seven lakes, all publicly accessible with no admission charge, no private beaches. Swimming, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling along the lakeside, walking in the Altmühl valley. In every season.

Franken is one of Germany's driest regions — good conditions for outdoor activities even in autumn and early spring.

DOGS

Dogs are guests, not an afterthought.

Almut and Axel Böker, who run the Büchelbergerei, are dog owners themselves. Dogs are welcome in the chaletdorf — not as a reluctant concession, but because they belong. Private enclosed gardens. Dog-friendly lake shores. Field paths from the chalet door.

The Frank & Frei chalets have a ground-floor bathroom with direct outdoor access — wet paws stay outside. Please mention your dog when enquiring, as the number of dogs in the chaletdorf is kept limited.
